Microplastics

Our collections include a wide range of technical garments such as outer jackets and hiking pants. In order for these garments to function at their best, synthetic materials like polyester are necessary. So how does Gullkorn address the microplastic issue associated with synthetic materials?

Avoiding all use of polyester in our products is currently not possible. However, both in our sustainability strategy and in our design routines, we aim to reduce the use of polyester wherever possible. We are also continuously increasing the share of recycled polyester in our products, which helps reduce the demand for newly produced polyester.

To address the issue of microplastic shedding during washing, we encourage our customers to wash garments gently and less frequently – and to use a laundry bag.
